What is a BIM?
What is a BIM?

Their Job Goal:
  • To serve as a liaison between the district vision for data use, curriculum, and instructional strategies and the individual buildings and classrooms.
  • Provide job-imbedded and ongoing professional development for administrators and teachers.
  • Serve as a knowledge leader during PLC time.
  • Model good instructional practices and inspire/train/support others to reflect and implement strategies that lead to improved student achievement.
Your building-based teacher leaders will assist classroom teachers to successfully integrate the use of effective strategies and multiple technologies in order to differentiate and enhance student learning.

Their Specific Responsibilities:
  • Acquire the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to effectively impact the instructional practices at the building level.
  • Facilitating school-based high quality professional development, working with teachers (in teams or individually) to refine their knowledge and skills. (Training could include small group instruction, in-class coaching, peer observing, modeling, and/or full staff facilitation).
  • Model the effective use of technology and technology integration strategies.
  • Lead discussion and implementation of curriculum-based strategies.
  • Serve as a knowledge leader and communication conduit at Professional Learning Community meetings and other staff collaboration events.
  • Use electronic tools effectively to collaborate with other building-based leaders and district staff.
