Credit Planning
When a student enrolls at South Central High School, one of the counselors will review the student's credit history and develop a plan of study to provide an outline for further course completion and to ensure that the student is completing courses required for graduation. Parents are encouraged to confer with the counselors and teachers to ensure that courses are being completed in a timely manner.

Occupational Outlook Handbook (link)
The Occupational Outlook Handbook is a nationally recognized source of career information, designed to provide valuable assistance to individuals making decisions about their future work lives. The Handbook is revised every two years.
Individual Counseling
Counselors are available for individual counseling with students before school, after school, and during school hours. No appointment is necessary. Please contact the counselors for more information. The counselors refer students to outside agencies when appropriate.

Group Counseling
Each semester a number of group sessions are available for the students. In general, students are limited to participation in one session per semester. Some of the groups available for students incude:- Tobacco cessation

Financial Aid information and FAFSA forms are available from the counselors.
Students are reminded to complete the FAFSA as early as possible. The priority deadline for students attending post-secondary schools in North Dakota is March 15.

Options for the Diploma
At South Central High School, the students must have 22 credits to graduate in 2011, 24 in 2012. These credits include both required and elective credits. For further information about the required and elective credits, please consult the student handbook section of this Web site.
Students can graduate with a high school diploma from the Division of Independent Studies in Fargo by taking at least one half credit of correspondence study from that institution. The rest of the credits can be taken at South Central High School. These courses must be paid for on an individual basis. For further information, please see one of the counselors.
